Caesar the rooster continues to rule over his harem of hens in his reserved corner of the chicken coop. 

The minute you come in to the coop he begins to crow, fluff up his feathers and generally strut his stuff like we are competition for their attention.

There is always one... one hen that refuses to be caught... who hides each night in some outbuilding on the farm and won't join the rest of the hens inside... there is always one!

Sitting in the barn last night, apparently my foot appeared to be a good roosting spot for this old hen. 

I had no sooner sat down than she hopped up to check things out. #curiouschick

Caesar, our accidental rooster, has moved to the back field with a select group of hens... We are hopeful that they may create some little ones for us, thus have given them some privacy! 

This morning I went back to check on him and the girls, and I think he has acquired a genuine swagger!

Was picking the beans today and had this feeling I was being watched.... 

This young hen has been wandering through the cucumbers and beans for several days. A bit like a patrol, I think she was concerned I was messing with her stuff!
